The 36-mile hike to the base of Blue Glacier and back took us 2 nights, 3 days. We saw fewer than a handful of hikers the entire trip. Dry as dust and tired on our return journey, we discussed that tricky logjam we encountered on our way to. Perhaps the waters were less furious now and we ford instead? To our relief, we met these trail volunteers working on that very logjam. They helped us navigate, safely. We were thankful, they were happy to help and posed for this snap.
Who are these people we meet, however briefly? The ones who impact not just their circles, but even strangers. Our life experiences define us – some bring us closer to the community.
